Up, Up, Up and Away...with Internet Included

In this busy working world some people like to always be connected to the internet via iPhones, tablets or laptaps. This means they can continuously work and be connected with the office. In some instances though it may not be possible to answer phone calls and this is where a mobile or landline phone answering service might be a useful option. But what about accessing the internet so that you've got constant email, messaging and social sites; is that possible at all times?

One area where phones and the internet have been unusable aboard planes but this could be soon to change in the near future with onboard internet. A flight firm has been testing out the potential of inflight wi-fi and although it’s nowhere near the experience of browsing the web at home, it does allow people that need to be always connected the opportunity to send an email if needed, but that again is said to be a very slow process.

There are two different frequencies that are called the Ka-band and Ku-band. Each have their own different pros and cons which you can read more about on this BBC news article “Connected sky: Surfing the web above the clouds”. It will be interesting to see how long before full internet speeds are capable on flights.
